Claims Assistance
From its founding, DAV has always been focused on service. Nationwide, we have over 1,600 certified Chapter and Department Service Officers located in 1,370 Chapters and 52 Departments. We also have a professional staff of 304 Accredited National Service Officers (NSO) and Transition Service Officers (TSO) located in 100 offices throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.
Our NSOs must complete an in-depth 16-month training course. DAV is the only Veterans Service Organization (VSO) that has a training program certified by the American College on Education for college credits in legal research and writing, administrative law, litigation, introduction to para-legalism, pathophysiology and human anatomy. Every Service Officer is a disabled veteran. At the local level, most Chapters have Chapter Service Officers (CSO). To maintain certification, each CSO must attend annual training and must be actively involved in providing claims assistance.
DAV Cradock Chapter 41 serves veterans and their families in the Tidewater area of Virginia by offering claims assistance, on a walk-in basis, Tuesday through Thursday, from 10 AM to 2 PM at our Chapter Home. If those times are inconvenient, we have several CSOs who will be glad to meet you at the Chapter at a time that is better suited for you. To make an appointment or ask a claims-related question, please call the Chapter Number listed below or email us using the form on our home page.
